Part of the reason I had a meltdown the other day was because I was overwhelmed, anxious, and stressed out. If I had planned better I wouldn’t have felt that way, at least not to that degree anyway. Thus, I decided to make a what I’m calling my “Writer” plan.
I started with a list of what I want to do in regard to my writing, being a writer…which meant brainstorming.
Here’s what I came up with:
- Improve my image/brand
- Produce new “product” for my audience (for example, new blog posts, videos, social media…)
- Expand my knowledge (college classes, workshops, read more (read the books on writing that I already own for starters)
- Finish book 1
- Edit book 1
- Participate in NaNoEdMo
- Find Beta Readers
- Outline book 2
- Write book 2
Then I broke all that down into something more…Like what I want to accomplish as a writer: To be published, whether or not I want to self-publish or traditional publishing, which means I’ll need to start researching the options that are out there.
I also want to check into writing contests and workshops.
Not mention the fact that I need to get more active on social media, yet I feel so lost when I get on tumblr. I really need to figure it out.
And like I said in the previous post, I’ve broken my goals down into quarterly goals to make it more manageable.
