One of the things I love about preparing for NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) is that I usually make sure that I have my writing area (room) clean (for the most part), which includes my desk. That might not seem like such a big deal, but for someone like me who tends to be a creative clutter (aka stacks of books everywhere, along with pens, notebooks, sticky-notes, coffee cups, etc) it is a big deal. Over the past 2 weeks, I’ve been rearranging my writing room.
I’ve moved bookcases, cleaned off my desk, rearranged other furniture, put together a futon and moved it twice–it’ll probably get moved one more time because I’m not happy with where I ended up having to put my bookcases–they’re all crammed into one corner right by where I sit and it’s just not working. Anywho,
I’m trying to get everything prepared for the madness of writing 50,000+ words in 30 days during the month of November–that wonderfuly crazy thing called NaNoWriMo.
I’ve also done some cleaning and organizing in my bedroom and living room, as well as catch up on laundry and a few other household things. The more I get done now, the less I have to worry about in November.
I still need to go to the grocery store and pick up my supplies–things like extra coffee and half&half, (more) Dr. Pepper, water bottles, popcorn, cashews and pistachios, (more) dark chocolate, and, of course, I’ll be ordering my NaNoWriMo winner’s t-shirt this weekend, and maybe the mug. I saw the shipping and handling for the mug–Wow!
So on to finishing the next part of my outline. There are only 11 days to go.
